Comment organiser et envoyer des fichiers musicaux

Nous avons toujours besoin que les fichiers soient en format mp3 avec TOUTES LES MÉTADONNÉES.  Il suffit de les envoyer à friendly.radio.avignon@gmail.com via WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive ou un autre service similaire et NON par e-mail. 

Concernant les métadonnées, c'est la responsabilité de l'artiste, son agent ou son label de remplir ses informations avant l'envoie aux radios. 

Selon la version de Windows, les métadonnées sont faciles à rentrer. Un logiciel pour entrer les métadonnées est "AIMP Tag Editor". On peut le télécharger gratuitement par https://www.filepuma.com/download/aimp_4.60.2180-25059/download/ ou http://www.aimp.ru/

• Organiser les fichiers musicaux

Au niveau du nom d'un dossier ou un fichier, évitez de mettre les les lettres d'un mot sont toutes en minuscules ou toutes en majuscules.  Seule la première lettre de chaque mot doit être en majuscules. 

Imaginez que vos albums se trouvent tous sur le lecteur principal "c" dans le dossier "Musique" avec d'autres artistes / musiciens / groupes

c://

Musique//

Votre Nom d'Artiste ici// 

Musicien 2//

Musicien 3//

etc//

Lorsque vous cliquez sur Votre Nom d'Artiste, tous leurs Albums/Singles/EP devraient apparaître

Album 1//

Album 2//

Album 3// 

etc.//

Ensuite, lorsque vous cliquez sur le nom de l'album, toutes les chansons de l'album doivent apparaître avec le numéro de piste, son nom et le nom du titre de la chanson et c'est à ce stade que la pochette de l'album doit également être trouvée (avant de la saisir dans les métadonnées)

01 Votre Nom d'Artiste - Titre de la Chanson 1.mp3

02 Votre Nom d'Artiste - Titre de la Chanson 2.mp3

03 Votre Nom d'Artiste - Titre de la Chanson 3.mp3

Dans l'ensemble, si vous vouliez regarder la première piste de l'album, l'album 1 devrait ressembler à ceci sur l'ordinateur:

c: // Musique // Nom d'Artiste // Album 1 // 01 Titre de la Chanson 1.mp3

Une fois que tous les albums et chansons ont été organisés correctement, nous pouvons maintenant commencer à saisir les métadonnées.

• Ajouter les métadonnées aux fichiers musicaux

Téléchargez gratuitement le programme AIMP, voici le lien: https://www.filepuma.com/download/aimp_4.60.2180-25059/download/ ou http://www.aimp.ru/

Une fois téléchargé, vous remarquerez que AIMP est un package audio à trois programmes. Un "lecteur" qui s'appelle simplement AIMP, un convertisseur audio pour passer d'un format wav à un format mp3 (Stéréo / CBR / kbps) par exemple et Tag Editor (utilisé pour saisir ou modifier les métadonnées).

Une fois AIMP installé, vous devrez ouvrir AIMP Tag Editor

Vous remarquerez sur le côté gauche de l'écran où se trouvent vos fichiers informatiques. En utilisant l'exemple ci-dessus "c:// Music // Votre Nom d'Artiste // Album 1 // 01 Titre de la Chanson 1.mp3" 

Vous devrez double-cliquer sur "c", puis "Musique", puis "Album 1". Sur la partie droite de l'écran en haut, vous verrez une colonne pour une image, puis le n °, l'artiste, l'album, l'année, etc. Les fichiers mp3 individuels ci-dessous peuvent être invisibles si aucune métadonnée n'a été saisie auparavant.

Cliquez sur la première ligne (qui devrait normalement être la première chanson de l'album). Une nouvelle fenêtre s'ouvrira et vous sélectionnerez toutes les choses que vous souhaitez modifier. Une fois que chaque case que vous souhaitez modifier est sélectionnée, commencez par espace pour la couverture de l'album, puis entrez le reste, puis cliquez sur ENREGISTRER.

Une fois enregistré et dans la même fenêtre, vous verrez et devrez ensuite cliquer sur "modifier tous les champs".

Une nouvelle fenêtre s'ouvrira qui vous permettra d'ajouter plus de détails. Vous devrez ajouter le nom de votre artiste dans la zone ci-dessous sous Artiste de l'album. Si vous avez un lien iTunes, il y a une zone réservée à "URL".

Vous pourriez vous demander quelle est la différence entre "Artiste" et "Artiste de l'album". En règle générale, ils sont tous les deux identiques. Cependant, l '"Artiste de l'album" est destiné à la personne qui publie l'album mais peut également être de divers artistes si l'album est une compilation. La zone réservée à "Artiste" sera l'artiste principal et les autres artistes présentés avec eux. Vous ne devez pas écrire "featuring" ni "feat.".  A la place, il faut séparer chaque nom par un point-virgule.

Si vous n'avez jamais utilisé le service auparavant, vous verrez un écran vous demandant si vous souhaitez ouvrir un compte. Cliquez simplement sur non merci. Ensuite, vous verrez une zone sur la droite pour charger les fichiers, pour entrer votre e-mail, l'e-mail de la personne à qui vous souhaitez l'envoyer, et un espace pour écrire un message si vous le souhaitez. Puis appuyez sur envoyer. Les fichiers commenceront à se charger, puis vous recevrez un e-mail de confirmation que les fichiers ont été envoyés, puis un autre une fois qu'ils ont été téléchargés.

Pour entrer les métadonnées avec Mac, on peut utiliser "Tag Editor Free", voici le lien:   https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tag-editor-free/id984278082?mt=12  

Si on écoute notre radio sur son site www.friendlyradio.fr, on peut remarquer que:

Il y a la couverture de l'album, le nom de l'artiste, le nom de l'album, le nom du titre et un bouton de téléchargement (dans le cas qu'un lien iTunes a été donné).  Si les métadonnées n'ont pas été entrées, c'est comme un CD qu'on va mettre dans un lecteur multimédia où on va voir l'image d'une note de musique, artiste inconnue, album inconnue, titre inconnue, etc.

How to organise and send music files

We always need the files to be sent in mp3 format with ALL METADATA included to friendly.radio.avignon@gmail.com via WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive or another similar service and NOT by email. 

Regarding metadata, it is the responsibility of the artist, his agent or his label to fill in his information before sending it to radio stations. 

Depending on the version of Windows, metadata is easy to enter.  An easy to use software for entering metadata is "AIMP Tag Editor".

• Organize music files 

In what concerns folder and files names, avoid putting the letters of a word in all lowercase or all uppercase.  Only the first letter of each word should be capitalized.

Imagine that your albums are all located on the main "c" drive in the "Music" folder along with other artists/musicians/groups

c://

Music//

Your Artist Name Here//

Musician 2//

Musician 3//

etc//

When you click on your artist or group name, all of their albums/singles/EPs should appear

Album 1//

Album 2//

Album 3//

etc.//

Then when click on the album name all of the songs on the album should appear with the track number his name and the song title name and it's at this stage that the album cover should also be found (prior to entering it into the metadata)

03 Your Artist Name - Song Title 3.mp3

Overall if you wanted to look the first track of the Album 1's album should look like this on the computer:

Once all albums and songs have been organised in the correct manner, we can now start entering the metadata.

• Add metadata to music files

Download for free the AIMP program, here's the link:  https://www.filepuma.com/download/aimp_4.60.2180-25059/download/  or  http://www.aimp.ru/  

Once downloaded you'll notice that AIMP is a three program audio package.  A "player" that's simply called AIMP, an Audio Convertor to convert from a wav format to a mp3 format for example (Stereo / CBR / kbps), and a Tag Editor (that's used to enter or modify the metadata).

After AIMP is installed, you'll need to open AIMP Tag Editor

You'll notice on the left hand side of the screen where your computer files are located.  Using the example above "c://Music//Your Artist Name//Music//Album 1//01 Song Title 1.mp3"  You'll need to double click on "c", then "Music", then "Album 1".  On the right hand part of the screen at the top you'll see a column for an image, then n°, artist, album, year, etc.  The individual mp3 files below might be invisible if no metadata has been entered previously.  

Click on the first line (which should normally be the first song on the album.  A new window will open and you'll select all of the things you want to modify.  Once each box that you want to modify is selected, start with the space for the album cover, then enter the rest, then click on SAVE.

Once saved and in the same window, you'll see and then need to click on "modify all fields".

A new window will open that will allow you to add further details.  You'll need to add Your Artists name in the area below under Album Artist.  If you have an iTunes link, there's an area reserved for "URL".

You might ask what's the difference between "Artist" and "Album Artist".  As a general rule, they're both the same.  However, the "Album Artist" is for the person releasing the Album but can also be Various Artists if the album is a compilation.  The area reserved for "Artist" will be the main artist and the other artists featured along with them.  You should not write "featuring" nor "feat".  You'll want to separate each name by a semi-colon.

Once all of the metadata has been entered, you can send me the files via WeTransfer, here's the link:  https://wetransfer.com/

If you've never used the service before, you'll see a screen that asks you if you want to open an account.  Just click on no thank you.  Then you'll see an area on the right to load the files, to enter your e-mail, the e-mail of the person you want to send it to, and a space to write a message if you'd like.  Then hit on send.  The files will start to load and then you'll receive a confirmation e-mail that the files were sent and then another once they've been downloaded

When you listen to our radio on it's site www.friendlyradio.fr, you'll notice that:

There is the album cover, artist name, album name, title name and a download button (in case an iTunes link has been given). 

If the metadata has not been entered, it is like a CD that we will put in a multimedia player where we will see the image of a musical note, unknown artist, unknown album, unknown title, etc.
